The Best Christmas Present

Our Christmas present came a few weeks early, and a few days before Christmas wrapped up in soft blue blankets and it makes the cutest little noises all day and night. We sure love him and are all quite smitten. His name is Blake and he was by far our biggest baby especially for being a few weeks early but so far he is just one huge delight!!

Tis the Season

I can't believe it is officially December already!! However it has gotten very very cold here and the tree is up and the Christmas countdown has begun.  So far we managed to do a few fun things to start the season off right. I took the kids to the annual, little, light parade in town and froze. We also got to go to a company party with Shay's work to a fun bowling place with pizza, kids had a good time and we saw the Temple Square Christmas lights with some of Shay's family, and froze. Hopefully we will manage a few more Christmas type activities over the next 20 days and before our new addition decides to come into this world.  I'm sure there will be more freezing too!! gotta love winter.
Freezing waiting for the light parade
Kids hoping to get some candy
 Bowling fun
Temple lights, it was super crowded and freezing but it was still very pretty to see

Halloween Fun!!

We were lucky to have such good weather for Halloween this year. It was Sunny, cool but not cold and just felt like fall in every way. This year I was asked to be in charge of Steel's Halloween Party at school I was kinda nervous about it particularly since his teacher originally told me i had an hour, after calling all the Mom's that were willing to help and dishing out assignments, I found out that the party was cut down to only a half hour. However, I think it turned out alright.  In addition to the kids having parties at school, they had a costume parade at school and then we took them trick or treating downtown. They got so much candy that Sophie's pumpkin basket broke! Later that night we took them to a few houses to have the real trick or treat experience.  Now we have so much candy I think I will be needing to get rid of most it before my kids suffer permanent health issues. They at least had fun though.

Zachary was a Air Force, Top Gun, Pilot, Sophie Rapunzel and Steel a Race Car Driver

The weekend before Halloween, we went to a super fun party at our friends the Hoopes House
After our friends party we headed over to a little party put on by the Rec. center, the kids got to paint pumpkins, do a craft and play a few games for would you know it, more candy!!

Sunday night we had fun decorating Halloween sugar cookies
This is at Steel's Class party at school, Sophie was so excited that she could come with me and Steel was so kind to her, he is such a sweetie.

Here we are Trick or Treating downtown
All worn out after doing our last bit of Trick or Treating
This is what we woke up to the very next day!! I think we might have gotten at least 4-6 inches of snow. Most of it has since melted but it has been super chilly it was 9 degrees when I took the kids to school today so not all of it is going away yet.
I may not have been super thrilled with the sudden onset of snow but the kids were thrilled and had fun playing it before school. I guess it pays to be early risers sometimes.
Sophie is trying to do a snow angel and is grinning from ear to ear.
Here is Zachary's snowman he built super quick before school, I was very impressed

What weve been up to

I can't believe how fast time is going by and that soon our lovely fall weather will be gone and be replaced with cold winter. However, this fall has been nice and we have managed to have some fun along the way. The kids are loving school and Sophie is loving her time with just Mom. I am getting very pregnant, or so I feel and the countdown is beginning. 10 more weeks to go!! I feel he is ready to come out now so hopefully my body and him don't get too eager and we can enjoy a relaxing easy holiday season without any hiccups. In the mean time here are some pictures of the fun fall things we have done so far.

Over Labor Day weekend, Zachary got to do the fish catch in town, we also went to the parade and got tons of candy

Shay's parents came to visit for one of the weekends in September. The weather was great and the kids had fun working on Shay's old truck with Grandpa, chucking corn with Donna(found at farmers market,) and we took them to the demolition derby in town)
At the Demolition Derby, where Zachary caught his cool t-shirt that we posted about earlier

At the end of September Shay and I were able to get away for the weekend, thanks to my Mom for watching the kids. It was great to have a break from the kiddos and just enjoy relaxing particularly since it was our 10 year anniversary.
The kids had a great time with Grandma Wyla, she was so good and did crafts with them and made sure they got plenty wore out playing outside lots!! She also kept my house super clean and was a big help with the kids homework. She and I had fun getting some much needed clothes for the new baby too, it was great having her here.
After she left our house she spent a few days with her parents. We drove down before she left and got to enjoy a fun day hanging out with her and the Great Grandparents and even cousin Jackson came!! Sophie decided she is smitten with her big cousin, it was very cute to watch. Later we had a fun extended family dinner with all of my Mom's family and kids at my Uncle Rogers house. It was very fun and sad to say goodbye.
This past week, Sophie got to go on a field trip, with her little class at the rec center, to the animal shelter in town. She loved the kittens except for after I took this picture the kitty pooped on her arm and shirt and my allergies started to act up after being near all the dirty dogs in the cages. I remembered why we don't have a pet yet.
She also had her first Halloween party at her class, she is so excited to be Rapunzel for Halloween
We carved pumpkins this week, why my boys always have their shirts off in pictures I do not know, anyway the boys had a good time but we forgot to set the pumpkins outside and now they are rotten, guess we will have to get some more this week. Oh well
