Zachary's Birthday

Thursday was Zachary's 7th Birthday. He had a special day because he also had a field trip to an aquarium for school that day. Since, Shay had to work up north most of the day we decided to have him open up presents after breakfast.  He of course had his Breakfast candle too and this year he requested a Lego cake. He had a great birthday. We sure have enjoyed the last 7 years with our special boy.

A look back at when he was first born, he had tons of dark hair
When he turned 1
When he was 2, this was his favorite spot to go
He's always loved the beach, this is our trip to Florida when he was 4
His Birthday Breakfast, pancakes, hash browns and bacon!!
His new Lego boat, he is our Lego guy
His Lego cake, it turned out better than I thought it would
His loot, it didn't take him long to spend all his birthday money, he found lots of fun Lego's on Amazon.

Steel's Birthday

Yesterday Steel turned 5!! Wow I can't believe that 5 years with him has already gone by, it has gone by too fast. He has always been such a joy to have in our family and I was sad realizing that this was his last birthday at home all day, unless it falls on a weekend of course. He is so ready to be 5 and be all grown up. We had a good day despite the bad weather, it was snowy rain mix all day. Not quite the sunny 98 degree weather that he was born in. So I took he and Sophie to the indoor pool in town for fun, made lots of his favorite foods for Breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course a chocolate cake. We also hung out watched cartoons and played games. He had to wait all day to open his presents, such torture but I think the wait was worth it. He had a fun birthday and we are so happy he is in our life.
Ahh he was so cute, he was always my happiest baby
Shortly after his 1st Birthday with his Grandma
I love this picture of him he was 2 and oh so cute!!
For his birthday Breakfast he wanted ham and eggs, and of course we had to keep up with tradition of putting a candle to blow out, in his breakfast
He finally got to open up his gifts, can you see the excitement!!
The loot, the best part was all the money from his Grandparents, Thank you he has it all spent already on lots of fun toys, he is soo excited.
Finally the cake, he was to excited to eat it but enjoyed it today.

Next up Zachary's Birthday, wow we are going to be so sick of Cake for a while!!

Happy Easter

We had a good Easter. On Saturday we went to a Easter Egg hunt in town, it lasted all about 5 minutes but the kids got lots of candy and had fun despite the freezing temperatures. Easter morning the Easter Bunny had come to our house so the kids had fun hunting for eggs and enjoying the yummy treats he left them. The weather cleared up by church so we got some decent photos of the kids. Then this morning we woke up to almost 2 inches of snow!! At least Easter itself was a nice day.

Spring Break

This year I was very insistent that we were going somewhere warm for spring break. Luckily the boys Spring Break wasn't until this last week so that we could have more chances of finding some place warmer than where we are. We had a great time in Saint George, if only we could have stayed  longer than just a few days. Steel and I did not want to leave and yesterday after being home for a few days, he told me he wanted to go back and wanted to live there, I completely agree. Now if I could just convince my husband who loves the cold.  I think the kids favorite part of the trip was swimming in the outdoor pool, despite all the other activities we did. Steel especially loved the pool. This is good because he has been struggling passing his swim level, swim lessons, and now I know he can swim pretty good by himself. We also took the kids to play miniature golf, ride bumper boats and go karts, we took a fun hike, Zachary's favorite part, took them to a Natural Wildlife museum and just enjoyed hanging out and eating out. It was a great trip!!!

At the Natural Wildlife Museum
Bumper Boat Fun
Zachary was kind enough to give his sister a ride
Steel had fun driving his own car, even though it was super slow
Swimming at the hotel pool
Hiking
Sophie exhausted from the all the fun, this was her makeshift bed, she actually crawled in there to take a nap, very unusual for her to do that.

Highlights

So I realize it has been a very long time since I have blogged. I'm not sure if it is the depressing winter or the busyness of life but I suppose I should post some cute Kodak moments over the last few months. We have been busy with school, lots of swim lessons, volunteering in Zachary's class once a week or so and friends. The winter has been too long and we can't wait for Spring to finally come and to stay!!! Today I was finally able to take the kids for walk, it has been about 6 months since we have done that and I am looking forward to more in the near distant future.

Shay was excited about the shirts I found for the boys
Sophie and I went to a Mom and Daughter tea party, put on by our local library, it was our first super fun outing, she loved it.
We celebrated Sophie being a big girl(potty training) with a potty day party with just our family she felt special!!
Shay celebrated another birthday
I took Steel out on a date, we went bowling and out to Mexican, his choice, we had fun together just the 2 of us.
Zachary and I went on a date just the 2 of us, he choose Subway and a movie it was fun

We celebrated Saint Patrick's day with a Rainbow cake, inside was rainbow colors too.
Steel got a spiffy church outfit he has become such a sharp dresser and I love to watch him put on belts every day and want to tuck in every shirt he is also particular in how his hair is he is funny.
My friend Allie took these adorable pictures of my kids while she babysat them for me, she is an excellent photographer.
We finally got some good weather and the kids had fun rolling down a huge hill at the park I took them too. Yeah for Spring!!! the next day it snowed 3+ inches though.
