Sophie the Cowgirl

Sophie loves Hats, she doesn't usually wear them very long but she loves hats that belong to anyone but her. Her favorite hat is her brothers Cowboy hat though. This is the one hat she does not take off and she thinks she is pretty cool with it on. I guess I should go buy her a pink cowboy hat.

Weekend Fun

Last weekend we went down to Salt Lake to see our friends Matt and Nerys and their little boy Mitchell. We went to a place called "Jungle Jim's" it was a lot of fun for the kids.

Random Pictures

Waiting for the Parade to start
Chasing after the candy
I love this picture of Zach in mid air
Steel admiring all the horses

Here are a few pictures I should have added but forgot. On Labor Day Evanston had their Cowboy Parade. It was mainly horses and fire trucks but the kids liked it especially since most of the floats passed out candy. The other pictures are of Sophie and Steel having fun together. Steel is such a good little helper now that he is the big boy at home.

Sophies Birthday!!

Birthday Breakfast
Dinner
Playing with new tea set toy

Sophie turned 1 today, I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by. My Labor Day baby is growing up and I have had to fight back the tears today. I am not sure why I am more emotional with her than when the boys turned 1 but we are sure glad she is in our family. Her birthday celebration was not as I planned starting with the cake, I attempted to make one last night but my baking skills did not pay off for me and the whole cake crumpled as I tried to put it together, thanks to Smiths they saved the day. Then I looked everywhere for a cute Mylar balloon but Walmart and Smiths no longer carry them here, luckily they had a pink regular balloon they gave us for free for our troubles. Then I ordered her some cute shoes for her birthday gift online and despite the fact that they said they were supposed to be delivered this morning they never came. Oh well luckily she is only 1 and was okay with the one gift we got her and the cards with money from her Grandparents. We had pancakes for her breakfast, pizza for dinner and of course she got to demolish half the cake and she liked it so much we finally had to take it away from her before she got to sick. Speaking of which I think she did get a stomach ache because she just woke up and she usually doesn't do that. All in all it was nice day.

First Day of School

Today was Zach's first day of school. I can't believe he is old enough to go!! It was an emotional day for us both I think, he kept telling me how much he was going to miss me but thankfully when I picked him up from school he said he had a good time. Just a few run ins with the rough kids in class but I think he made a friend. Kindergarten is all day here so it was hard for us both but it was good to to have the house quieter for a change. We shall see how tomorrow goes.

Birthday

Birthday celebration, boys picked out cake.
Shay and I on Alpine Slide

Sundance.
I turned 30 this past Friday. I am doing better with it than I thought I would. Of course it probably helped that I was able to have a wonderful birthday thanks to my great kids and husband. Shay and the boys picked out a cake and bought lunch for me Friday afternoon, they got me slippers and a Taylor Swift CD. Later in the day Shay made a Manicure and Pedicure appt. for me and watched the kids while I went, it was very nice. Shay's parents drove down from Idaho so that Shay and I could go to Park City for the weekend. Shay and I had a great time. We went out to eat lots, saw a couple movies, went on the Alpine slide, did some shopping, Shay got tickets to see the musical "Fame"playing at the Egyptian theater in Park City, and he surprised me with reservations at Sundance for dinner. I loved all of it we had a fantastic time. It was hard to come back to reality. Hopefully I can squeeze another trip out of Shay in 6 months or so.

Park City with big Brother John

Sophie having fun
Zach
Cousin Jackson
Zach and cousin Jackson
My brother John and daughter Camila
Johns cute family

Monday I finally got to see my big brother John and his cute family. It has been 3 years since I saw him last, the way things go when we all live far away. Now he lives in London but he was in town seeing his wife's family, which live in Salt Lake. He has 2 cute girls and his son Jackson is handsome and growing up fast. It sure has been fun living closer to Salt Lake so I can see people as they come through.
